2025 in Review: HNW Wealth Management Lessons for Advisors

In his long-running Celebrity Estates podcast, Senior Editor David Lenok highlights issues facing the rich and famous, taking key lessons from those cases and applying them to more traditional clients. At their core, these basic concerns also apply to non-famous clients.

This year was no exception. From Gene Hackman to Rob Reiner, recent celebrity deaths have brought to the forefront wealth and estate planning issues relevant to all clients.

In addition, a new feature this year was the “Celebrities and Wealth” series, written by advisor Evan Vladem, who interviewed professional athletes about how they manage sudden wealth and navigate life after their sports careers end. From NBA Champion Metta World Peace to IndyCar Champion and team owner Bobby Rahal, the Q&As offer fascinating insights for advisors into the mindsets of their clients.

This year also saw David Geffen’s divorce, hefty tax bills for Wimbledon champions and more.

Take some time perusing these articles from 2025 regarding celebrities and wealth.
