Elevation Point Stakes $1.3B Ex-UBS Team in Atlanta

Elevation Point, a minority investor in independent and breakaway advisors launched in 2024 by former Sanctuary Wealth CEO Jim Dickson, has taken a minority stake in Harbor View Private Wealth, an Atlanta-based wealth management firm with $1.3 billion in assets. The eight-member team, all in their 40s or younger, was previously with UBS.

“You don’t find too many opportunities where the talent and the marketplace match up quite like this one, so we’re all in,” Dickson said.

Harbor View is led by founding partners Daniel F. Emerson; Angelo V. Esposito Jr.; Scott M. Emerson, Daniel’s brother; James G. Malatos; and David R. Randall. The business was originally co-founded by Daniel and Scott Emerson and Esposito as an affiliate of UBS in 2019. Prior to that, the three were senior vice presidents and wealth advisors with Merrill Lynch for more than a decade.

They’re joined by Kyle Hammond, director of client engagement and wealth management advisor; Stephanie Feaser, director of client experience and team administrator; and Natalie Quinn, director of wealth planning and client service associate.

“There are parts of our business I want to integrate that you can’t at a wirehouse—bringing in additional services for clients, whether it’s taxes, whether it’s estate planning,” Daniel Emerson said. “Jim and his team are going to be tremendous assets in helping us understand how to go about it, find the appropriate targets, integrate and bring them into our business.”

Dickson said this is a firm that can double or triple in size in short order.

Harbor View has plans to be aggressive in the M&A space, eyeing the Northeast and Central Florida regions, over the next one to two years.

“Client experience, the quality of the guidance, the advice and the service model is a lot more important to us than just growing, so we’ve got to make sure we got to do it the right way—intentionally,” Emerson said.

Harbor View serves a client base primarily in the Atlanta area, and that includes corporate executives and their families.

They’ve chosen Goldman Sachs Custody Solutions for custodial services. Last year, Elevation Point expanded its existing partnership with Goldman Sachs, providing advisors with access to banking, lending, trading, asset management and capital markets capabilities. It also added Goldman as one of its custodians.

Harbor View represents the latest partnership with Elevation Point, following news in September that it made a minority investment in Loxahatchee Capital, a Tequesta, Fla.-based multi-family office with $1.4 billion in assets, also formerly with UBS.

Last May, Elevation Point sold a minority stake to Emigrant Partners. While Emigrant Partners and Elevation Point have similar business models, the investment gave Emigrant exposure to the breakaway advisor market.

In the 18 months since inception, Elevation Point has closed nine deals with independent RIAs with a combined $11 billion in client assets.
