VestGen Launches Retirement Division With Osaic Team

VestGen Wealth Partners, a Chicago-based registered investment advisor platform that went live last December, is launching a retirement plan advice division, bolstered by the acquisition of a former Osaic team specializing in the space.

VestGen Retirement Services will offer fiduciary oversight and participant engagement programs to plan sponsors and participants looking to roll over retirement assets. It is seeding the new division by bringing on a former Osaic team led by Bob Greulich, who has a roughly 40-year track record in retirement and wealth management.

In the new role, Greulich will be a managing director and wealth advisor for VestGen Retirement. He had been with Osaic and its subsidiary Triad Advisors for about four years.

James Kim, who had been with Osaic and Triad for about two years, will also become a managing director at VestGen Retirement, focusing on retirement plan participant 401(k) rollovers and wealth strategies.

Gruelich’s team, based in Oak Brook, Ill., oversees a total of $662 million in client assets, including wealth.

“Plan sponsors need compliant plans, but they also need a competitive advantage,” Greulich said in a statement. “A well-run retirement program helps companies attract and retain top talent, while giving employees the confidence to retire on time and with dignity.”

Josh Gerry, founder and CEO of VestGen, said that as wealth management evolves, it is losing personalization, particularly for retirement savers who are receiving workplace financial planning tools.

“We’re building a firm that combines growth with soul—a unified ecosystem where employees don’t just access financial planning, they engage with it,” Gerry said. “With the same reach as the largest providers, we deliver through advisors who know their clients by name. This addition is a gateway to that vision.”

RIAs are increasingly creating specialized divisions through acquisitions as they seek to expand services to drive organic growth and retain clients. Earlier this week, RIA Prime Capital Financial bought a tax firm to help seed the launch of its Prime Capital Tax Advisory.

Earlier this month, VestGen announced it had won six breakaway advisors across four states, representing $1.5 billion in assets. The firm, which is focused on providing a succession path for aging advisors, has 45 advisors on its platform.
