Resignation, shock, approval: A mix of emotions as East Wing demolished

The East Wing of the White House has been demolished as part of a plan to build a 90,000 sq ft (8,360 sq m) ballroom, estimated to cost $250m to $300m (£186m – £225m). The venue is expected to host parties, state visits and other events. The BBC asked people near the White House how they feel about the East Wing coming down to make room for the new addition.
